Orientations for potential authors Philosophical Discussions Journal
Discusiones Filosóficas Journal, is an open-access Article Processing Charge (APC) scientific publication that circulates biannually in the national and international scope. It is assigned to and financed by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and the Research and Graduate Studies Vice-Rector’s Office at Universidad de Caldas. It receives primarily original and unpublished collaborations in the form of articles that report research results as well as reviews, translations and presentations on its topics of interest (philosophy and philosophy of literature, if possible, from the analytical tradition). These collaborations are published in printed and digital format (PDF) in Spanish, English or Portuguese, unless the authors explicitly request the translation into Spanish. The Journal also invites readers to send short replica texts to published articles, as well as reviews of recently published specialized books.
Discusiones Filosóficas Journal publishes, on the consideration of the Editorial Committee, reviews and reproductions or translations of other works or articles previously published in another academic media or scientific journal. For this purpose, the sources and origin of the original text, as well as the respective permissions for publication must be clearly indicated.
Article submission
The author who wishes to submit a manuscript for consideration by the Editorial Committee of the Discusiones Filosóficas Journal must:
- Send the document to Make a submission, addressed to the Editor of Discusiones Filosóficas Journal. The file must be submitted in Word format (.doc or .rtf), be typed space and a half using Arial font 12-pt type. It is essential to indicate which author will be responsible for receiving and sending the correspondence or else it will be assumed that the first author will take charge of such function. Within the article the central data of the author or authors must be specified, which should include: schooling, institutional affiliation, city, state or department, country and email (institutional). All authors must obtain and send the ORCID registration number (http://orcid.org/) and the access link to their profile in Google Scholar (https://scholar.google.es/).
- The submission of the article must be accompanied by the CV resume of each of the authors (ver formato en la Web) and the letter of assignment of rights signed by all authors (ver formato en la Web).
- Write the article with a maximum length of 7000 words, which must be preceded by a brief abstract of the work in Spanish and in English not exceeding 200 words. Immediately after this abstract, four to six keywords must be included to identify the main topics addressed.
- Write critiques and book reviews with a maximum length of 4000 words which must be preceded by the names, surnames and profession of the person making the critique or review, as well as the complete bibliographic elements (names and surnames of the author, complete title of the book, edition number, city of publication, editorial, year of publication).
- Footnotes numbered in consecutive order will be used only for clarifications, comments, discussions and must be on their corresponding page, in order to facilitate readers in following the reading of the text.
- Send the graphics, diagrams and photographs in a minimum resolution of 300 dpi in jpg format. The place where pictures will be placed within the text must be indicated next to the pictures. All these resources must be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals and clearly indicate the corresponding source(s).
